SPORTS CLUB BLEND
Quality Ryegrass Blend
SPORTS CLUB MIXTURE
is a cost effective alternative to
straight annual ryegrass overseeding in large areas such as
fairways and athletic fields. This economical blend of perennial
rye and annual rye provides a quality turf where price is a factor
but quality winter overseeding is a necessity.
Characteristics:
-
Sports Club
is a choice for overseeding fairways and athletic fields.
-
Sports Club
offers an aesthetic appeal as well as maintains density and mows
cleanly.
-
Sports Club
is the best choice where price is a predominant factor.
Recommended Use:
Golf Courses (Overseeding fairways and Roughs), Athletic
Fields, and Parks
Climatic Zones:
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (may not be adaptable to all areas
within each climatic zone)
Establishment & Maintenance:
Under ideal conditions, germination begins in 6 days. If
overseeding, care must be taken to ensure adequate seed to soil
contact. Subject to germination rate, first mowing may begin at 21
days after sowing. Recommended mowing heights for fairways is 1/2
to 3/4 inch (12.7 – 19.1 mm) 3 to 4 times per week. Mow
athletic fields at 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches (12.7 – 38.1 mm).
Sports Club
responds to 1/2 lb Nitrogen per application. Repeat applications
only as grass shows need due to fading color.
Seeding Rates:
-
Fairways 300 - 400
lbs./acre
-
(136 – 448 kg/hectare)
-
Athletic Fields
10-15 lbs./1000 sq. ft.
-
(4 1/2 - 7 kgs/100 sq meters)
